Jay Hare - CEO
Jay owner and founding partner has served the company as CEO since 2007. He has guided the company successfully through startup, the initial growth curve, its merger with its parent company and now its transition to the new AlkaViva products and brand. He brings 30 years of business management and sales and marketing experience to the team. Jay offers AlkaViva visionary guidance, a complete grasp of the water market and an unparalleled understanding of the emerging world market for ionization technology and its varied applications. His expertise has been earned by his experience developing various segments of the ionization market encompassing residential and commercial product lines. He passionately believes that the only path to success is through helping others be successful.
Jay is an avid and enthusiastic father, skier, cyclist and outdoorsman. He lives with his wife Vajra, their two sons Ramsey and Jackie and daughter Pema in the shadow of Mt Rose, less than 20 minutes from his favorite chairlift.
Sylvie Moonjay - Operations Manager
Sylvie is an owner and founding partner and oversees operational aspects of our Warehousing Fullfilment and Technical Support operations. She also produces all our video support content. She was born in France. While studying to become a medical doctor, she discovered that nature had a lot to teach her. In 1973, her passion for health guided her to create an organic farm where she raised her 2 children. After that, she practiced holistic healing on Maui for 20 years. Sylvie She loves making things functional and efficient and helping create an experience of support and care for our customers and dealers. Integrity is important to her that we are who we say we are! She believes in the power of service and is dedicated to helping Alkaviva be a positive force in the industry.
Sylvie lives with David her partner and is crazy about their two Yorkies – Charlie and Junior. She loves drinking water, doing yoga, green vegetables, dark chocolate and anything with lots of breathing and movement.
David Forsyth - Chairman
Along with Jay Hare and Sylvie Moonjay, David Forsyth is a co-owner and founding partner. He is responsible for international sales and marketing and oversees web-related marketing efforts. David has enjoyed seeing AlkaViva grow over the past 13+ years from a solar-powered garage in upcountry Maui to a solid Corporation in Reno with its own manufacturing division. The challenge of growth in a conscious company is to keep the focus on improving the customer experience while not getting lost in profit, process or administrative details. David believes that his role in helping others help themselves, through having clean and healthy water, has been a sacred gift that demands compassion, care and integrity.
David's three adult children live in Australia, where he was born before moving to the USA to be with his partner Sylvie Moonjay. He loves adventures in nature and travelling to exotic, remote places. For his 60th birthday he spent 6 weeks trekking through Nepal and the Himalayas.
Vajra Farnsworth - Human Resources Manager
Vajra considers herself to be blessed to have grown up in a family that instilled in her the firm belief that a body in balance can heal itself and that higher consciousness – or faith – can make a dramatic impact on our health. She brings to the team a 20+ year history as healer, health coach, yoga teacher and entrepreneur. She has owned and operated two businesses where she taught and inspired clients to transform through cleansing, healthy nutrition habit and dynamic physical practices. Vajra oversees Human Resources and the Customer Support functions. As a co-owner of AlkaViva, she is the lightning rod of inspiration to our team, to provide excellence in everything we do and offer in our products and services.
Vajra loves practicing yoga, exploring possibility, laughing and helping others. She is the loving and dedicated parent with her husband Jay to their sons Ramsey and Jackie and her daughter Pema. They live in the the Sierra Tahoe mountains just south of Reno.
Alex Jitloff- Chief Financial Officer
Alex joined the team in 2009 and brings 30 years of accounting, finance and operations experience to the team. He is a graduate of San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science with emphasis in accounting. Alex has held senior financial positions with public and private companies primarily in the high tech, manufacturing sector. Most recently he was the Director of Finance, CFO at Hamilton Company with group revenues of $100M. He was responsible for the group’s global accounting and finance functions. Alex has extensive experience in business planning and analysis, business plan development, budgeting, cost accounting, and financial reporting. He has developed and implemented cash management tools, negotiated credit facilities and managed treasury activities.
Alex lives in Reno with his wife Pam and is an avid cyclist and skier the father of three sons and a proud grand parent.
Cynthia Weymann - Customer Service & Financing Manager
"Cyn", as she is affectionately known, joined the team in 2007 as a Customer Service Specialist. She manages our Customer Support operations and embodies the AlkaViva corporate ethic of service. Her experience combined with her exceptional inter-personal skills, always cheerful and positive demeanor and tireless dedication provide her the invaluable ability to leave our customers feeling not only cared for but taken care of. She was awarded AlkaViva Employee of the Year multiple times – and maybe should be every year. She brings over 27 years of Customer Service Specialist experience and Administrative Office Management to our team. Prior to joining the team, she spent the most recent eleven years working as a lead Customer Service Specialist in the U.S. Division for an international MLM company. Her care and prowess in dealing with the customers to achieve quick and satisfactory results elevated her to U.S. Divisional Office Manager.
Cynthia is an avid swimmer, an unassailable Seattle Seahawks fan, loves the beach, skydiving, and most of all spending time with her three sons, her daughter-in-law, and her grandson.
Abbey Engesetter - Digital Marketing Manager
Abbey joined AlkaViva in 2008 as a Customer Service Representative. She quickly found her niche in communications and was responsible for creating the company newsletter and managing AlkaViva’s social platforms. Abbey loves all things “techie” so in 2013, she jumped at the opportunity to become the Marketing Coordinator at a music technology company. There she mastered graphical design, web design, social marketing and e-commerce platform development. She has returned to the AlkaViva family where she has assumed her new role as Marketing Manager and is excited to be back in her passion for water and helping people.
A native New Yorker, Abbey has found her home in Reno with her fiancé, their 3-year old daughter and two dogs. She enjoys time with her family, exploring new places and always finding time to appreciate the simple, gratifying moments in life.
